Advancing Limb Preservation and SSI Prevention: SilverStream at Chennai’s Premier Wound Care Conference

Advancing Limb Preservation, Wound Healing, and Surgical Site Infection Prevention

SilverStream Medical participated in the Third Chennai Advanced Diabetic Foot and Wounds Conference, held on June 12–14, 2026, at the Hilton Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

India is home to one of the world’s largest populations of people living with diabetes, creating a significant and growing burden of diabetic foot ulcers, chronic wounds, and lower-limb amputations. Alongside these challenges, healthcare providers continue to address the impact of Surgical Site Infections (SSIs), which remain a major contributor to prolonged hospitalization, increased healthcare costs, and patient morbidity.

The conference brought together more than 400 healthcare professionals, including diabetologists, vascular surgeons, podiatrists, wound care specialists, plastic surgeons, and multidisciplinary clinicians dedicated to improving outcomes for patients with diabetic foot disease and complex wounds.

SilverStream® Solution was presented throughout the conference by our Indian partner, PR Enterprises MedTech, providing clinicians with an opportunity to explore innovative approaches to wound management and SSI prevention. The event generated significant interest in advanced wound care technologies that can support both chronic wound healing and surgical care pathways.

Clinicians expressed particular interest in the potential role of SilverStream Solution across the continuum of surgical and wound management, including:

  • Pre-operative wound preparation;
  • Intraoperative wound irrigation prior to closure;
  • Post-operative wound care and wound environment management;
  • Management of diabetic foot ulcers and complex chronic wounds.

Discussions focused on SilverStream’s unique liquid dressing technology, which combines multiple functional components—including low-concentration ionic silver—to support:

  • Mechanical cleansing of debris and microorganisms;
  • Biofilm disruption and microbial stabilization;
  • Moisture balance and support of epithelialization;
  • Regulation of exudate and the wound environment;
  • A continuous liquid dressing effect between dressing changes.

The strong engagement from attendees highlighted the growing demand for evidence-based wound care solutions capable of supporting limb preservation, improving healing outcomes, and reducing the burden of wound-related complications.

SilverStream Medical extends its sincere appreciation to PR Enterprises MedTech and Mr. Deepak Kumar for their outstanding commitment and professionalism in introducing SilverStream® Solution to healthcare professionals throughout India. We also thank Dr. Rajesh Kesavan and the conference organizing committee for delivering an exceptional scientific program that fostered collaboration, education, and innovation in wound care.

Participation in this important event represents another milestone in SilverStream Medical’s global expansion and reinforces our commitment to supporting clinicians with innovative wound management technologies that improve patient outcomes and advance standards of care.

SilverStream® Solution is designed for use in diabetic foot ulcers, chronic wounds, burns, traumatic injuries, and surgical wound care, including support of Surgical Site Infection prevention protocols.

We are proud to support our partners as we continue expanding access to advanced wound care technologies worldwide.
